Zhen Lei is a major protagonist in the 2006 spy film Mission: Impossible III. She is a field agent of the Impossible Mission Force and a member of Ethan Hunt's team selected by John Musgrave.
Biography[]
Zhen Lei assists Ethan Hunt in his mission to rescue his protege, Lindsey Farris, together with Declan Gormley and Luther Stickell, in Berlin, Germany. As Ethan and Lindsey battle in the factory, Zhen ran around to make sure nothing went wrong. They then sit down in the truck to Declan's helicopter, where Ethan tries to get the micro-explosive charge out of Lindsey's head. However, they fail and Lindsey is killed.
Zhen later accompanies Ethan to the Vatican City within Rome, Italy to capture Owen Davian, the black market trafficker. Zhen helpes Ethan by accidentally spilling her drink onto Owen, before apologizing profusely. Owen smiles and tells her it is alright, he goes to the bathroom where he is ambushed by Ethan Hunt. Later, they go back to their underground tunnel. Ethan asks Zhen to destroy their 'very nice car' and they return to the United States. As they transport Davian to the authorities, their convoy is attacked in the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel by Davian's operatives and their prisoner is able to escape.
After that, Zhen, Declan and Luther accompanies Ethan to Shanghai, China to find a mysterious dangerous object known only as the Rabbit's Foot and bring it to Davian himself. However, Zhen is injured during the escape and have a armsling holding her injured arm throughout the rest of the film.
As they reach the outskirts of the city, Ethan orders Zhen, Declan and Luther to return home, which they do and are greeted by the Executive Director of the IMF, Theodore Brassel, and a large group of heavily-armed IMF agents in the airport's tarmac as they land. As Ethan finds his wife, Julia Meade-Hunt, Zhen Lei, Declan and Luther meet her in the IMF headquarters for the first time. The couple give their farewells to all of the agents as they leave for a honeymoon.
