Matthias is a minor antagonist in the 1996 film Mission: Impossible. He is a bodyguard in the employ of arms dealer Max.
Biography
When IMF agent Ethan Hunt contacts Max by email and organises a meeting with her, Matthias and an unnamed henchman are responsible for bringing him to her. The pair remains present throughout their discussion and leave with them when Eugene Kittridge's agents arrive due to Ethan's disk scan. Towards the end of the film, a new encounter between Ethan and Max is organized in the TGV and Matthias is again seen alongside Max with the other bodyguard. They are finally found by Kittridge. Apparently, Max manages to negotiate an agreement to stay free but we do not know if Matthias also has this chance or not.
