Marie is a character who appears in flashbacks in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and will return in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. She is currently assumed to be Ethan Hunt’s lover, or otherwise someone in whom he took a romantic interest, and was murdered by Gabriel.

Early Life[]
Currently unknown. What little is known of her presence in Hunt’s life is also largely a mystery.
Rock and Hard Place[]
In the flashback we see Gabriel threatening Marie until Hunt appears. Gabriel shoots Marie and leaves her for dead. Ethan arrives too late to save her, however, and she dies in his arms.[1]
Legacy[]
The police conveniently arrive to find Hunt with the now-dead Marie and he is arrested.
While imprisoned some time later, Ethan is contacted by Colonel Briggs, who recruits him into the Impossible Mission Force.[2]
