Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life[edit | edit source]

Leonid Lisenker is a Russian cryptographer with Polish origin who had restructured Russian nuclear security after the Cold War. He is married to a woman named Anna and has a son, Alex. All three live in Moscow, Russia.

Helping Kurt Hendricks and Death[edit | edit source]

After the terrorist Kurt Hendricks attacks the Kremlin, a confused Leonid is informed of the event by television and plans to leave the city. He therefore asks Anna to prepare Alex's suitcase but he realizes, horrified, that the two are being held hostage by Hendricks and his right-hand man, Marius Wistrom, because Hendricks intends to take him with him to Burj Khalifa, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he must receive the nuclear launch codes of a missile from assassin Sabine Moreau. Leonid is then forced to help a powerful criminal to protect his family.

Later, Hendricks (disguised as Wistrom) and Leonid arrive at Burj Khalifa as Impossible Mission Force prepares to intercept the exchange between Wistrom and Moreau. Analyst William Brandt identifies Leonid, causing the team to give up his plan to provide false codes to Hendricks. After verifying the codes, Leonid asks Hendricks to release his family, which he does. However, he coldly shoot Leonid in the chest and then runs away. Dying, Leonid is then found by Brandt, who tries to save him but apparently fails.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Leonid's death is later avenged as Hendricks commits suicide in order to attempt to save his plans.
